The All-Star Event is held by Riot Games every year in different places around the world. As opposed to Worlds, the All-Star event is not meant to be competitive but has regional matches, fun game modes, and a 1v1 tournament. This year the games take place in Palau Sant Jordi, Barcelona from December 8-11th. The players are divided into two teams: Team Fire, which includes the LCK, NA LCS, and IWC All-Stars; and Team Ice, which includes EU LCS, LMS, and LPL All-Stars. The Fun Game Modes include Marksmen, Poro King, One for All, Assassins, Tandem, and All-Stars.
The ECS, or Esports Championship Series, is in its second season. Ten teams from both Europe and North America are in a round robin and playing against each other in two best-of-one series. The regional stage has finished and lasted from October 7th to November 13th. The top four teams advance to the Season 2 Finals while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Season 3 Promotion.
The Season Two Finals take place this week from December 9-11th at the Anaheim Arena in California. As the largest CS:GO event ever in Southern California, the top four teams from NA and EU will be competing for over $750,000.
ELEAGUE was the first CS:GO league to be streamed on broadcast television and has finished its second season. With a $1,100,000 USD prize pool, the league went from October 21st to December 3rd.

In a thrilling Semifinals and Finals, OpTic Gaming beat FaZe Clan 2-0 and Astralis 2-1 to win $400,000 USD and become the ELEAGUE Season 2 champions.
The Dota2 Professional League is China's first large-scale individual eSports league. There are two leagues: the Top League and Secondary League, with ten teams in each. Each team plays in a best-of-two Round Robin. With a prize pool of $900,000 USD, the tournament runs from September 19th to December 31st.

As the first Major of the 2016-2017 season, The Boston Major features sixteen participating teams and, for the first time, a single elimination bracket based on group stage performance. With $3,000,000 USD on the line, the group stage leads to the main event next week from December 7-10.
Overwatch APEX was Overwatch's first major tournament in Korea. With about $178,000 USD on the line, 16 teams from around the world competed from October 7th to December 3rd. The format involved a Round Robin where all matches were best-of-five with the top two teams advancing to the Playoffs. The Playoffs had best-of-five Quarterfinals and Semifinals and a best-of-seven Final.

With AF.Blue and Team EnVyUs in the Finals, many anticipated this matchup against Korea and EU. Team EnVyUs was able to be victorious 4-0 in Nepal, Hollywood, Volskaya, and Watchpoint: Gibraltar.
