The different leagues around the world are currently on break until the third week of January with the LCK starting on January 17th and the NA and EU LCS starting that weekend.

ELEAGUE Major 2017 - Qualifier

The ELEAGUE Major is a Premier Tournament featuring 16 teams and a $1,000,000 USD prize pool. Last week the offline qualifiers finished where 16 teams competed for eight spots in a swiss tournament.

To qualify for the main tournament, the eight teams with positive scores (3-2 or better) will advance. Here are the results:

The main tournament goes from January 22-29 in Atlanta, Georgia. With a $1,000,000 USD prize pool on the line, these sixteen teams will be playing in this first Major of the year.

DreamHack Leipzig 2017

Part of the DreamHack ZOWIE Open, the DreamHack Leipzig 2017 is a Premier tournament featuring eight teams competing for a $100,000 USD prize pool. Going from January 13-15th, the tournament takes place in Leipzig, . The tournament features a Group Stage in a double elimination group format and a single elimination Playoffs. The participants have yet to be announced.

Dota2 Professional League Season 2

The Dota2 Professional League was China's first large-scale individual eSports league. There were two leagues: the Top League and Secondary League, with ten teams in each. Each team played in a best-of-two Round Robin. With a prize pool of $900,000 USD, the tournament ran from September 19th to December 31st.

The final placements of the standings determined each team's place in the Playoffs gauntlet. Here are those results:

As you can see, Newbee was able to beat iG Vitality 3-0 to win $238,000 USD.

Here are the standings for the Secondary League:

The Secondary League has no Playoffs so Team VG.J took home the largest prize of $34,000 USD.

Overwatch Winter Premiere

The Overwatch Winter Premier is a Blizzard tournament that features eight teams. These eight teams will play for a $100,000 USD prize pool from January 3-31. After a round robin, the top six teams advance to play another round robin where the top four of these teams will go to the offline finals.
